Adrian Rokovic
Adrian Rokovic, 31 years old, born in Croatia, came to Germany for the first time in 1998. He assumed first duties at ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik in autumn 2007 after graduating at the university of Duisburg/Essen with the specialisation in desing engineering.
Already, from a young age Adrian discovered his passion for technique and desing. He acquired technical software single-handed and in his leisure time he liked to assemble model ships with the according combustion motors. Even as a child it fascinated Adrian to set the model ships on water for the first time and to start the test run after laborious work.
Asking Adrian what makes his job interesting, he gives the following answer: “You are not only dealing with your daily tasks, innovations and suggestions for improvements are also welcome. This meets exactly my expectations and means a satisfactoriness and enriched job to me.”
Adrian’s function as a desing engineer at ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik GmbH is much diversified and provides him with space for creative ideas. His tasks are including the desing of equipment for open-pit mining, interaction between the responsible departments within the company as well as communication and exchange of technique information with external consulting engineers and costumers.
Within his present career Adrian already handled two foreign visits with excellence:
In 2008 he was delegated to create “as built”-drawings for an innovative crushing plant in China. Beyond that he can review on a successful site-experience in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of 2009. Essential part of his work was the measurement of an old conveyor system for a cement plant which transport capacity should be extended.
For Adrian it was a challenging task to prepare a three-day introduction lecture on conveyor systems for the foreign Saudi Arabic craftsmen and lecture it afterwards.
“To be involved in the implementing of the conveyor system in Saudi Arabia”, so Adrian “extended my angle of view on activities at ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik enormous. On site you first comprehend the interrelation between theory and practise.”
